BBC and the Bureau for Investigative Journalism News Report 2016
In Summer of 2016 the Bureau for Investigative Journalism contacted London Housing Trust with a number of concerns resulting from complaint from a client. Concerns included Damp on a wall in a client bedroom, lack of client involvement regarding payment of utility bills and the potential conflict of interest of a founding board member.
We investigated these concerns and worked to improve our services and communication with our clients. We contacted the Regulator who reviewed our policies and procedures. To protect the reputation of the trust the founding member joined the executive team as our Compliance officer.
In December 2016 the Homes and Community Agency reported a review that concluded LHT complied with both the Economic Standards and Consumer Standards.
